Trail Work Party at the River View Natural Area: August 8th 5-8pm
Last year in what has been described as, the "largest land acquisition in recent decades," two City bureaus (Parks and Environmental Services) teamed up with Metro to purchase 146 acres of natural area known as the "River View Forest" (check the original article on BikePortland). For years this area has been utilized by mountain bikers with its various unofficial trails, as the owners of the land (River View Cemetery) turned a blind eye. However now with the ownership transferred to Portland Parks and Recreation, if mountain bike trails are to be figured into the long term plan for the area, participation at these early stages is essential.
In this spirit, please join Portland Parks and Recreation, NWTA and Sellwood Cycle Repair in River View Natural Area for an evening of trail work.
Details are as follows:
What: Trail workparty. Brushing, tread work and some minor re-routes.
When: Wednesday, August 8th 2012 5pm – 8pm
Where: River View Natural Area. We will meet at the top of the Natural Area at SW Brugger St. and SW Palatine Hill Rd. For directions CLICK HERE.
