Puttin in work with PDW: Sandy Ridge Work Party May 11th
Next Saturday, May 11th, PDW and NWTA are hosting a work party at Sandy Ridge. The trail system has grown from a single trail in 2009, to a robust network of technical singletrack and jump lines. These developments didn't happen on their own; they're a result of countless volunteer hours.
If you ride at Sandy Ridge, or even if you've never been there, you should consider getting out there to lend a hand. The folks at PDW will be providing coffee and donuts before the work party and beer and brats afterwards. They'll also be handing out free PDW swag all day long, so this is pretty much a win-win.
There's also rumor that they'll have the key to the gate which means they'll probably be running shuttles to the top after the work party is over. If you need a ride to the trailhead, contact PDW to see if they've got room left in the van. They'll be leaving Portland at 8:30am.
The work party runs from 10am - 2pm. There's plenty of time to shred when all is said and done!
What you need: Boots, gloves, water, weather appropriate clothing and bike for riding afterward.
