Total Crusher: Kona's New 2012 Satori All-Mountain 29er

2012 has been a big year for Kona in terms of innovative new designs, and their new entries in the 29er mountain bike category show the ingenuity and freshness that is at the heart of the company.  With the carbon King Kahuna hard-tail, titanium Raijin,  Honzo gravity hard-tail, and the revamping of the Hei Hei 29 lineup, Kona has really brought the heat to the proverbial 29er table.

It's Kona's new Satori that elevates the already bulletproof 29er lineup to the next level, providing an excellent foil to the short travel Raijin and King Kahuna hard-tail offerings, with a longer-travel (130 mm) all-mountain 29er.  A cleaver rear linkage design maintains a short wheelbase and compact chainstays for a quick-handling and responsive monster truck of a mountain bike.  Sellwood's own "Mad" Mike Lilienthal recently sold his entire fleet of mountain bikes, replacing them with a Satori, and added that it makes "a fat ass faster".  It should also be noted that Kona pro Barry Wicks rode his new Satori to a 5th place finish at the Sea Otter Short Track race, indicating that this bike can excel at pretty much anything you throw at it.  The Satori is available as a full bike and frame complete with a FOX RP2 rear shock.  If this post piques your interest please come by and check one out.
