Get Rad: the 2012 Kona Honzo All-Mountain 29er
The Honzo was one of Kona's all new designs for 2012, and from the first sneak peeks we saw, we all knew it would be an awesome bike. I had the pleasure of getting to ride one for a day on Galbraith during last year's Kona Blast, and was pretty blown away.
Kona describes the bike as an "aggressive all-mountain cromoly 29er hardtail", and we'd be hard pressed to find a more apt description. It's essentially a slackened 29er hardtail, set up with a 120mm fork (which can be modified to 140), and short chain stays (so short in fact that a front derailleur cannot be mounted). The 68° head angle and stout frame make the rider feel as if they can go down anything, and the short chainstays make the bike feel snappy on uphill sections.
The bike comes set up with a 1x9 Shimano drivetrain, RockShox Revelation RL dual-air fork, and chain guides already installed. The frame features sliding dropouts, as well as cable routing for a dropper post to make the bike even shreddier.
The Honzo is an elegant, confidence inspiring, and simplistic 29er, which can tackle almost any situation you throw at it . Come by the shop and check one out! (check here for our current availability)
