"Portland Rides" PCEF E-Bike Rebate Program

As a neighborhood-centered small business that has a strong culture of serving every rider's needs with respect, we at Sellwood Cycle Repair take joy in seeing a wide variety of bikes come through our doors--and the city commuter e-bike is a transit mode that we love to see growing in usage in our bustling city.

For many of us, the commute is our most frequent ride, and the e-bike expands the potential of daily motion and greener living. But the price for entry can be beyond the budget of many Portlanders. Enter: Portland's new and growing e-bike subsidy programs, intended to make green energy more equitable and accessible.

In the fall of 2025, the Portland Clean Energy Fund introduced a pilot program for income-based rebates to lower the consumer cost of a new e-bike purchase via partnering local bicycle retailers--and we were proud to be one of those shops!

After a successful pilot, the "Portland Rides" program officially opens its expanded e-bike rebate programming to the Portland public on April 6, 2026. It's available to a broader application lottery pool, and offers incredible income-based rebate programming to help get more people on e-bikes. And the list of qualifying bikes now includes cargo and adaptive model options! Additionally, all program recipients receive a second rebate redeemable toward commuting accessories. 

We're excited by the idea of more people on bikes and proud to be a partnering local bike shop that is well-versed in the Portland Rides rebate program. We carry a variety of bikes approved by the program, and we would love to help you find your new e-bike commuter.
